Tickets for public transport GZM Transport
Now, single-journey tickets are all about time. What if there's a delay, for example, when traffic jams mean the ticket expires—the journey takes 30 minutes instead of 20?

The GZM Transport tariff applies to single journeys based on a time-based tariff, where the fare depends on the travel time reflected in the timetable. If a delay extends the journey beyond the timetable, the validity of tickets is extended by the duration of the delay. This applies to journeys made with a single/short-term or "Group" ticket.

What happens if I use the Start/Stop Trip option and forget to register leaving the vehicle?

If a passenger fails to register their exit (by presenting their card or clicking "Stop" in the app) upon exiting, the system will not refund the unused portion of the journey. To ensure they only pay for the distance actually traveled, always remember to "jump off" when exiting the vehicle.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased in mobile applications: Transport GZM, jakdojade, zbiletem.pl, mPay, moBILET, SkyCash.
Through the Transport GZM internet portal.
In ticket machines, a list of which can be found here: Transport GZM.
In points of sale, a list of which can be found here: Transport GZM.
In Passenger Service Points, the locations of which can be found here: Transport GZM.

When traveling by airport airline, do I need to buy any special tickets?

No, you do not need to purchase special tickets. You can travel on airport lines using tickets listed in the Tariff of Transport.

Can I buy a ticket from the driver?

As of January 1, 2026, tour operators will no longer be selling tickets. We recommend other sales channels.

Can the “2 Cities 30” ticket be valid in the area of two municipalities that are not adjacent to each other?

No, long-term tickets for 2 cities are only available for two bordering cities/municipalities.

Can a ticket be suspended?

No, passengers cannot suspend the validity of their tickets. However, most long-term tickets can be refunded early. The "Network 180" ticket is not refundable. Refunds can be made at Passenger Service Points, and in the case of electronic tickets, also via the mobile app or the GZM Transport Portal.

How to buy a ticket on board using a payment card?

The contactless card payment system is available on all vehicles across the GZM Transport network (buses, trams, and trolleybuses). Each vehicle is equipped with at least one device supporting this payment method (usually located at the second and third doors on articulated vehicles).

There are two methods:

purchase a ticket, e.g., 20, 40, 120-minute, or Daily. On the device screen, select the ticket type and number, confirm with the "Proceed to payment" button, and then tap your card or phone/watch on the reader. The ticket is automatically "validated" upon purchase.

"Start/Stop" fare. Simply tap your card (or phone/watch) on the reader immediately upon entering the vehicle (without selecting an option on the screen) and again upon exiting. The system will automatically calculate the fare for the distance traveled.

How can I check if I successfully purchased a ticket from the ticket machine in the vehicle and how can I show it during an inspection?

The devices do not print paper tickets or receipts. The ticket is virtual and assigned to your payment card. To ensure your ticket has been purchased correctly, you can press the "i" button on the in-vehicle device and hold the card or phone/watch used for the purchase against the reader. Importantly, the transaction is not immediately reflected in bank accounts. The ticket purchase will be debited the next business day.

During the inspection, you must hold the card or phone/watch used for the purchase against the inspector's reader. This is completely secure, as the inspector only receives confirmation of a valid ticket.

How does transfer work and does it count towards the ticket validity period?

Transfer rules depend on the selected fare type.

Time-based (single-use) tickets: These allow for transfers, but the time spent walking to the stop and waiting for the next vehicle is included in the ticket's validity period. This means that the ticket must be valid for the entire journey (including subsequent vehicles).

"Start/Stop Journey": This allows for payment for a single journey (from boarding to exiting). After transferring to another vehicle, a new fare is charged for the next leg of the journey. If the transfer occurs within 30 minutes of registering exit, the system will treat the next journey as a continuation of the journey. This means that the transfer time itself will not be included in the fare, and the timer on the next vehicle will start from the point where it stopped on the previous vehicle. However, it's worth remembering that the system totals all fares paid during the day and, once a certain threshold is reached, will only charge the value of the "Day" ticket for the entire day.

Can an 8-year-old child travel free of charge on ZTM public transport?

Yes, children and young people aged 7 to 16 who reside/are registered in municipalities within the GZM (Gmina) may travel on GZM Transport free of charge. This is subject to a special discount in the GZM Transport system.

Do people over 70 years of age have to have a Metrocard?

No. People aged 70 and over travel on GZM Transport free of charge with a valid ID card or other photo ID confirming age. There is no requirement to obtain a Mertokard or encode a discount.
